Ohno was a bold and bossy former ranch pup making all kinds of questionable choices so I was delighted to reconnect with the talented Melodie and learn that she was redirecting her decades of experience into a new venture—Happier Hounds.

Happier Hounds provides opportunities to build a mutually enriching relationship with your dog. Melodie’s special gift is adapting a lesson to each team’s unique learning style, developing confidence and keeping learning fun and interesting for all. Joyful distractions and new experiences abound—squeaks, skateboards, and skipping assistants are just a few activities that help teams improve focus and build trust.

BONUS: Melodie’s own good dogs take turns coming to class and modeling the Happier Hounds lifestyle. #goals

This is a wonderful activity for anyone that shares their life with a dog.

POV Ohno: Melodie’s class is heckin’ fun, 10/10 would recommend. 12/10 if she would let me be in charge, 14/10 if she would bring some cows.

Melodie's experience, love, and patience are the perfect mix for dogs and pet guardians alike!

She builds skills through positive training methods that motivate canines and their handlers to proven results.

Our pup, Missy, needed structure and leadership after being rescued from a rough start in life.  Melodie invested her time, heart, and expertise so Missy has grown to be the dog we always knew she could be.

Melodie saw this in Missy from the start and helped us grow as a family with innovative techniques and always lots of love!

Ted and I have now participated in Canine Good Citizenship, Rally/Obedience, Out & About and Team Building classes through Happier Hounds Training and I can’t say enough about the benefits of this for my dog and myself. I have a highly sensitive dog who is so much more confident in all types of settings.

The group classes are so personalized, it feels like getting private training and you always learn quite a lot from the other dog/human teams.
All the emphasis is on learning dog behaviors and communicating/bonding through positive reinforcement with your dog in lots of different settings with loads of fun exercises and activities.

Bonus-it’s a great way to meet other dog parents.

If you’re interested in really getting to know and have fun with your dog (with the added plus of having a more well-mannered dog)-I would highly recommend and give a 5 star rating to Melodie Ullman @ Happier Hounds Training.
